ASC TEACHER   (Essex)

 

Job Title:    ASC Teacher

 

Location:    Clacton

 

Sector:       KS2/3/4

 

Contract:    Temporary leading to potential Permanent offer

 

Salary:        upto £145 per day

You will be required to deliver and manage a high quality learning programme to ASC pupils

You will be supported by the Head Teacher, Teacher in Charge, Head of ASC Service, Teaching Assistants, who have specific responsibility for the promotion amongst staff of good pastoral care and behavior management strategies.  The Head Teacher has overall responsibility for any Child Protection issues that may arise.

 

Teachers will be required to use their subject specialism to support non –subject specialists in the setting of work.  The teacher will be responsible for coordinating the work of named team of Teaching Assistants as well as providing sufficient direct teaching time to meet the needs of the classrooms and pupils.

 

 

SUMMARY of JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

·         It is essential that you hold a QTS or equivalent qualification

·         Evidence of ongoing professional development in education or social care

·         Training in ASC awareness and teaching strategies

·         Experienced in offering calm responses to YP with ASC

·         Must have the ability to plan and prioritise workload

·         Ability to work collaboratively with other agencies and professionals

·         Creative and solution focused problem solver

·         Effective communicator in a variety of media

·         Ability to plan assess and maintain oversight of children’s education plans and teaching and learning

·         Experienced in supporting pupils in forming and sustaining effective relationships

·         Consistently promote best practice

·         Self Development

·         Celebrate Diversity and Equal Opportunities

·         Excellent written and communication skills for report writing

·         IT literate – experience using word, excel, power point and email as well as using internet for research
